Revision Strategy:

My goal for revisions is to create more of a well rounded piece. I want to focus on making all of my claims relate to not only each other but my thesis as well. I also hope to add another quote by either Strawson or Beck to support my claims. Lastly, I want to work on my naysayer paragraph as I do not feel that it fully relates and flows with the rest of the piece yet.

Steps I Plan To Take:

  1. Review my peer review edits that I received and decide which suggestions I want to take into account.
  2. Work on each of my claim sentences by altering them to relate to/ support my thesis.
  3. Insert a photograph of my brother to add to the multimodal aspect but also make the paragraph about him more personalized.
  4. Re read my naysayer paragraph and try to tie the idea back into my overall argument. This is where I could incorporate another quote either to defend my beliefs or challenge it.
  5. Have another friend or peer review it once these changes have been made.
  6. Work with the suggestions they make.

I feel that my biggest challenge for this process will be the naysayer paragraph. Due to the fact that I took a narrow approach with the essay, I feel that I cannot just use any statement that I disagree with, to refute. This is because when it comes time to defend my beliefs, I end up discussing other pros and cons of narratives that do not relate to the rest of the paper. I think that including a naysayer paragraph is a great tool in strengthening a paper which is why I am eager to fix it rather than just delete it entirely.

If I struggle with accomplishing any of these goals I have, I know that I can ask for help. Whether I ask a friend, SASC or my english professor, I am confident that I will be able to get feedback.
