Learning Outcome 4

Learning Outcome Four

Peer review has always been something that I enjoy doing. However, in college it was slightly different because we were providing feedback for global revisions. As I mentioned in my first learning outcome, I was not too familiar with these so it took some practice before I was confident with providing feedback on others papers about it. I think that peer review can be really beneficial to the person who is receiving the feedback but also the person who is providing it. If you are able to pick these “errors” or suggestions out of someone else’s paper then chances are, you are also able to naturally do it with your own. As shown in a peers essay below, I provided suggestion for making a connection on page one. In addition on page two, pretending that I was not familiar with the pieces she was including, I suggested that she provide a short summary of the sources to familiarize the reader. This was something that I did not do on my first essay but quickly learned to include it when it was encouraged to me by my professor. After that, any time I read an essay, it would stick out to me if they did not provide a summary of the piece they were quoting or referring to.
