Planning Change

I am confident in our ability as a group to carry out this Dissemination project. We have already discussed a plan on how to carry it out and stay on top of it. The difference with this project is that the groups were already chosen when other times we got to decide who we wanted to work with. Being able to choose allows you to work with those who have a similar worth ethic and goals. However, in life, you are rarely going to get to choose who you work with. Being able to work well and efficiently with all people, not just the ones you choose, is important in all aspects of life, especially as a nurse. With that being said, not getting to choose our teammates for this assignment is almost an added bonus as it will further teach us how to work well with all people- even those who may not want to put in the same amount of effort or have the same goals.

For communication strategies, our group plans on using a group message to communicate and remind each other of upcoming deadlines for our project and as a platform for questions. However, we will also use Zoom as a tool to “work as a group” without necessarily having to be in the same place. We will keep each other accountable through check-ins over text and reminding of upcoming deadlines. For those who are not keeping up or putting in effort, I will politely say something because that falls on all of us as a group. Also, I have a habit of always checking my work before submitting or presenting it so if I see something that is lacking, I will maybe suggest to whoever completed it things they could add or how they could improve it. I think the only barrier is working with new people/ people I might not know. However, I take this as a learning opportunity and opportunity to strengthen my communication and teamwork skills. As a nurse, I will be communicating with other nurses, patients, their family members, doctors, surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and so many other professionals which is why it is so important to be clear and concise when communicating.
